Glaucoma assessment

Protect your sight today. Preserve your vision for tomorrow.

Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of permanent vision loss worldwide. Often called the “silent thief of sight”, it usually develops slowly, without pain or symptoms you would notice, which is why early detection matters so much.

Our glaucoma assessment looks for early warning signs, evaluates your risk and tracks changes in your eyes over time, so problems are caught before significant vision is lost.

What your assessment includes

  • Eye pressure measurement (tonometry): checks for raised pressure inside the eye, a major risk factor for glaucoma.
  • Optic nerve evaluation: a careful examination of the optic nerve for signs of glaucoma damage.
  • Visual field testing: checks your side and central vision for subtle changes or areas of vision loss.
  • Optical coherence tomography (OCT): detailed scans of the optic nerve and retinal nerve fibre layer to find and monitor structural changes linked to glaucoma.

Early detection makes a difference

Vision lost to glaucoma usually cannot be restored, but early diagnosis and the right treatment greatly reduce the risk of further damage.

Regular assessments are especially important if you have a family history of glaucoma, are over 40, are of African descent, have diabetes, or have noticed changes in your vision.

Don’t wait for symptoms. Protect your vision now.
