Who needs a DVLA eye test
If the DVLA asks you for an eye test as part of applying for a new driver’s licence, renewing your licence or adding a new class, you can do it with us at Ridge.
What the test checks
The test looks at the parts of your vision that matter for driving safely, such as how clearly you see at a distance, your side vision and your colour vision. It is quick and painless.
What to bring
- Your glasses or contact lenses: if you wear them for driving.
- Valid ID: such as your Ghana Card.
- Any DVLA forms or references: you have been given.
If your vision is below the standard
Our optometrist will explain the result and what it means. In many cases, the right glasses or contact lenses bring your vision up to the driving standard, and you can then be tested wearing them. If we find something that needs further care, we’ll guide you on the next steps, including a comprehensive eye examination.
Drive with clear vision.
